Privacy policy

Who we are

Schuetze Web Engineering Pte. Ltd. (UEN 201818502R), Blk 129 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 #08-1541, Singapore 560129 ("we", "us"), operates this website. We are a Singapore company and handle personal data in line with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website and in our business contacts, why, and what you can do about it.

Scope

This policy covers this website and our own business contacts. When we work on projects for clients, we may process personal data on their behalf, for example data of their customers or policyholders. In that case we act as a data intermediary (under the GDPR: processor) under a written agreement with the client, and the client's own privacy policy applies to that data.

No cookies, no tracking

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking tools. Fonts and images are served from our own server, and the booking calendar and the website assistant only talk to our server. While you use the assistant, your browser keeps the conversation for that tab (session storage) so it survives a page reload; it is deleted when you close the tab.

What we collect and why

Visiting the website. This website runs on a server rented from Contabo GmbH, Welfenstrasse 22, 81541 Munich, Germany, in a data centre in Singapore. When you visit, the server processes technical data such as your IP address, the time and the page requested, to deliver the website. To protect the booking calendar and the assistant against misuse, it holds IP addresses in memory for at most one hour. We do not keep access logs of this website.

Email. If you write to us, we use your details and message to reply and to follow up on your enquiry.

Booking an intro call. If you book a call through the calendar or the assistant, we use your name, email address and, if you give them, your company and message to set up the meeting and send you an invitation. The booking is stored in our Microsoft 365 calendar and the call runs on Microsoft Teams.

Website assistant. The assistant at the bottom right answers questions using an AI model by Anthropic PBC (USA). Before your first message it tells you so, and it starts only when you click. Your messages and, if you give us your company website, the public text of that website are sent to Anthropic to generate answers. The conversation is held in memory on our server for at most two hours and is not stored permanently. If you ask the assistant to pass your request on to us, it emails us your name, email address, company, website and a short summary of your request through Microsoft 365. Please don't enter confidential information in the chat.

We use your personal data only for these purposes, or for purposes you have been told about and agreed to. We don't sell personal data and don't use it for advertising.

Service providers and transfers outside Singapore

We use these service providers, who may process your personal data outside Singapore, including in the USA: Microsoft (calendar, email, Teams), Anthropic (website assistant) and Contabo (server in Singapore). Each processes the data only on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Before transferring personal data out of Singapore, we make sure the recipient is bound to protect it to a standard comparable to the PDPA, as the PDPA requires.

How long we keep data

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, or as long as the law requires us to keep it (for example business and tax records). After that, we delete or anonymise it.

How we protect data

We protect personal data with reasonable security measures: encrypted connections, access only for people who need it, and service providers who are contractually bound to keep the data secure.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time which personal data we hold about you and how it has been used, ask us to correct it, and withdraw consent you have given (we will tell you if withdrawing affects what we can do for you). Write to our Data Protection Officer at simon@schutze-web.com. We reply as soon as reasonably possible, and to access requests within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Personal Data Protection Commission of Singapore (PDPC) at pdpc.gov.sg.

Visitors from the European Union

If you are in the European Union or the European Economic Area, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) also applies. We process your data to answer your enquiry and to arrange a meeting you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure website and responding to business contacts (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Transfers to Microsoft in the USA rely on Microsoft's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR); transfers to Anthropic in the USA rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses in Anthropic's data processing agreement (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).

Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and you can complain to a data protection supervisory authority in the EU, for example where you live.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our website or our processing changes. The current version is always on this page.
